Our simple plan

May 2017
May 2017

Our plan sounds simple enough.

Starting on May 2nd 2017 in Chepstow we will run clockwise around the coast of Wales for 1400 kms, deviating only for a quick side-trip to knock off Snowdon, the country’s highest peak. On reaching the end of the Wales Coast Path we’ll pick up the Offa's Dyke Path and follow this more or less along the border of England and Wales for a further 285 hilly kms to arrive back where we started, hopefully on May 27th.

The reality is of course quite different: running around 70 kms of trail & climbing more than 1,000m each day will be punishing to say the least. And of course Wales isn't famous for balmy weather, so that could add an extra dimension to the challenge too! To put it all in perspective, this route has only ever been run twice before and the record stands at 39 days (without the detour up Snowdon!) So our plan to do it in 26 days is, to put it mildly, ambitious!

But hey, we love a challenge and it's all for a great cause so we’re looking forward to getting out there and giving it a nudge.

We will be carrying a SPOT tracker so you’ll be able to follow our progress in real time without leaving the comfort of your armchair - CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW OUR PROGRESS (NB this will only be live from the time we start running on May 2nd)
